Help Us FIGHT! How to Combat SB-76 in Colorado

Colorado Bill SB-76, Senate Bill 76 to destroy legal cannabis

A bill was introduced in 2025 that could drastically impact the state of legal cannabis in Colorado. SB-76 would not only impact the entire regulated cannabis industry in the state, but the consumer as well.

One drastic action outlined in SB-76 includes restricting access to cannabis products with a THC concentration higher than 10% to adults 26 and older. This would impact roughly 90% of all cannabis products, making them inaccessible to a large portion of consumers.

In addition, the restrictions and changes proposed in SB-76 would result in the loss of thousands of jobs for those working in the regulated cannabis industry, as well as the likely closure of many cannabis businesses.

You can read the full text of the bill here.

As the first state to legalize cannabis recreationally, Colorado is the market that other states look to in order to determine the direction they take with their own respective cannabis industries. If this bill passes, it could start a chain reaction rolling back over a decade of progress in the cannabis movement.

This is not a drill! We need all the help we can get. Below you will find a pre-written letter that you can easily copy, paste and email to your local representatives. This letter strongly outlines the irreparable damage that SB-76 could cause for the Colorado cannabis industry.

Simply look up who the local representative for your area may be, fill in your info and the Rep’s name and address and send it. There is no restriction on how many representatives you can contact, or how often you can contact them.

While we are optimistic that this bill will not pass and that Colorado’s regulated cannabis industry will stand strong on the other side, we do not want to take any chances. There are some big interests backing the prohibitionists that brought this bill, and it is an uphill battle. That is why we need all the support we can get from awesome fans of The CLEAR like you!

Subject: Strong Opposition to Senate Bill 76

Dear Senator [Name],

I am writing to urge you to oppose Senate Bill 76, which would impose unnecessary and harmful restrictions on Colorado’s legal cannabis industry. I have friends and family working in the cannabis industry, and I am deeply concerned that this bill will negatively impact their jobs and the broader cannabis community.

While I strongly support efforts to protect public safety and prevent youth access to cannabis, SB-076 does nothing to advance these goals. Instead, it enacts overly restrictive policies making approximately 90% of legal cannabis products unavailable to adult consumers aged 21 to 25. This will force them to seek unregulated, untested alternatives on the black market putting both public health and industry jobs at risk.

Additionally, the bill mandates unnecessary new rules on serving sizes and labeling, which will not only confuse consumers but also generate excessive packaging waste, contradicting Colorado’s environmental priorities. These regulations place an undue burden on businesses without providing meaningful public health benefits.

Colorado voters chose to legalize and regulate marijuana for adults, treating it similarly to alcohol. SB-76 goes against that decision by stripping legal access from certain adults and imposing unworkable restrictions on licensed businesses. Rather than enacting policies that will cripple the legal cannabis industry, I urge you to support balanced regulations that protect both public safety and the thousands of Colorado workers who rely on this industry for their livelihoods.

Please stand with your constituents, support common-sense cannabis policy, and oppose SB-76. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

[YOUR NAME]
